LifeHouse Kindergarten – Phnom Penh

Breaking the cycle of poverty through early education and care.

Overview

In the heart of Phnom Penh, LifeHouse Kindergarten is creating brighter futures for children who might otherwise be left behind.

Many families in Cambodia face significant barriers to early education. Our program provides free, high-quality kindergarten to children from low-income households — equipping them with practical life skills, strong foundations for learning, and a sense of belonging.

This is more than just a classroom. It’s a place of hope, growth, and possibility — built on the belief that every child deserves a strong start.

Meet Phally

A Bright Start at LifeHouse Kindergarten

Young girl in green skirt holding up a paper with the number 5 written repeatedly in purple marker, standing in a classroom with drawings of animals on the wall behind her.

This is Phally. She’s six years old and part of our LifeHouse Phnom Penh Kindergarten.

Her parents work in factories in Sihanoukville, so Phally and her sister moved to live with their grandparents in Phnom Penh. For a while, they weren’t able to attend school due to their family’s living situation.

Recently, both girls joined LifeHouse Kindergarten — and everything began to change.

Before, Phally had very little opportunity to learn. But now, she can read and write both English and Khmer alphabets. She’s made amazing progress in a short time and is even starting to speak English confidently.

Phally is a joyful and courageous little girl. She loves to dance, sing, and share smiles with everyone around her. She’s kind to her classmates and brings a bright energy to the classroom every day.

Her journey is just beginning, but already, Phally is growing in confidence and learning skills that will open doors for her future. We’re so proud to be part of her story.
